Man held after 12-year-old girl attacked at park

A man has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a 12-year-old girl at a park in Leicestershire.

Police said officers were called to playing fields off Dorothy Avenue, in Glen Parva, just before 17:00 BST on Tuesday.

The girl was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Officers said a 40-year-old man was detained on suspicion of assault and remains in custody.
